Supporting the Queensland Cancer Council’s annual appeal

The Queensland Cancer Council began as a voluntary organisation and although it now employs staff, it continues to rely heavily on volunteers and depends on public goodwill and support for its research, programs and services. The Queensland Council’s Headquarters are in Brisbane, with offices in major regional areas throughout the state. There are more than 50 volunteer branches across the state - west to Mt Isa, north to Cooktown and south to Tweed Heads.

The Cancer Council's Daffodil Day is the largest merchandise based national fundraising event of its kind for cancer research, education, and patient support in the Southern Hemisphere. The daffodil is the international symbol of hope for all those affected by cancer.

Suncorp has been a major supporter of Daffodil Day since 1992, promoting the day in Suncorp Branches around Queensland with merchandise, donation collection, and selling fresh daffodils.

In 2008 Daffodil Day fell on Friday August 22.
